SoCal Wine Country Women’s Half Marathon & 5k

May 29, 2021

We’re Racing IN PERSON in 2021!

With everything going on in the world for the past year, I can’t tell you how excited I am that we’re going to be able to hold the race this year on May 29th. Needless to say, there will be adjustments to the way we hold the event in order to ensure the safety of all runners and volunteers.

COVID-19 Guidelines for 2021 Event

All participants, spectators, and race support staff must abide by the following guidelines:

  • You MUST wear a face covering if 6 feet social distancing is not possible, when you are not racing.
    • Mask required from the time of arrival at the Vail Lake Resort KOA until departure.
    • Mask must cover mouth and nose.
  • All participants must provide their own masks.
  • All participants, spectators, and race support staff must keep a 6-foot distance at all possible times when not racing.
  • You do not need to wear a mask when you are racing with the exception of when you are entering an aid station. Mask must be worn within 6 feet of entering aid station and may be removed when 6 feet outside of aid station.
  • If you have a fever or have had any Covid-19 symptoms in the 14 days prior to the event, please do not attend.
  • Aid Stations: All runners MUST carry their own hydration and nutrition to complete the course.
    • There will be minimally stocked aid stations with water, Tailwind Nutrition Drink, and Honey Stinger gels but there will be no single use cups available.
    • The Aid Stations are to be used only to refill your hydration packs, bottles, belts, as needed.
    • Due to minimally staffed aid stations refilling may take some extra time. If you are running for a time or place, please come ready to complete the distance self-supported.
  • Awards: We will not have an official awards ceremony. Overall awards will be given out at the finish line and Age Group awards will be mailed to winners the following week.
    • All runners will still receive their finishers medal and wine glass.
  • Post-Race Party: Sadly, we will not be able to host our typical post-race party with food, wine, and music this year. However, the Vail Lake Resort KOA will have the Happy Camper Café open at 8am and the Bunkhouse Bar open at 9am with food and beverages available for purchase.
  • Finish Line Etiquette: As much as it pains me, there will be no high fives, handshakes, or hugs at the finish line. Please keep physical contact to a minimum.
    • Please do not spend any more time around the start/finish line than necessary. Help us keep crowding to an absolute minimum.

Join us for a celebration of running, trails, competition and friendship. Explore this beautiful and challenging course. Push yourself to new limits.

All participants receive a technical T-shirt, logo’d wine glass, and custom wine bottle stopper finisher’s medal!
